We took a break from planting and working the garden but
most of our vegetables and berries are growing, vigorously.
Our first Queensland Blue pumpkin has appeared, soon we will
be having that great Queensland staple, pumpkin scones. During the last week our broad beans and peas
have doubled in size. The strawberries
(variety “Sweet heart”) are looking very healthy and the plants are getting
stronger, hopefully we will soon be seeing flowers.
Most of our citrus trees and our avocado tree have new growth
but the most spectacular has been the Pomegranate tree. When we planted it was a scrawny, spindly
tree but now has lots of new growth and leaves and is starting to fill out.
