At the heart of Somerset, the township of Esk is nestled below Glen Rock, views of Lake Wivenhoe and the surrounding mountains can be viewed from the top of Highland St.

During the buidling of the Wivenhoe Dam, the heritage listed Bellevue Homestead was moved to Coominya. The Bellevue property was originally part of the Wivenhoe Run, established in the 1840s and covered 38,000 acres. In 1920 the beautiful homestead hosted a visit by HRH Prince Edward, Prince of Wales.
The Toogoolawah area caters for flying activities, where Skydive Ramblers are located. This is regarded as one of the top 10 dropzones in the world. At exit altitude, expansive views of the peaks of the Great Dividing Range to the Pacific Ocean are had. On descent, the Brisbane and Bremer Rivers, the vast Lake Wivenhoe and the forested D'Aguilar Ranges can be picked out. Nearby is The Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield, which hosts several sport flying and aerobatic clubs many with vintage aircraft.
